　Bellator MMAが2月4日にカリフォルニア州イングルウッドで開催する『Bellator 290』で、本日の『Bellator 288: Nemkov vs. Anderson 2』で行われるワジム・ネムコフ vs. コーリー・アンダーソンのライトヘビー級ワールドグランプリ決勝＆ライトヘビー級タイトルマッチの勝者にヨエル・ロメロが挑戦することを発表。

　ロメロは9月の『Bellator 285: Henderson vs. Queally』でメルヴィン・マヌーフに3R KO勝ちして以来の試合で2連勝中。現在Bellatorライトヘビー級ランキング4位。
